i'm so sick. i think i have the flu. i have a high fever and am achey all over. yuck.
i had a verbal agreement to do a website for a small business. on thursday, i was informed that the "office girl" was going to do it instead. this "office girl" has no experience, has never done a web site before, was just learning how to use frontpage and edited her graphics in MS paintbrush! i was very disappointed and mad. but i washed my hands of it and tried to move on.
yesterday, i'm told, "the office girl doesn't know nothin' from nothin'! do it!" woo hoo! so i'll be starting on it later this week :) i already have the money spent, too lol i'm actually gonna save it all for our down payment on a house! hopefully we'll be able to buy around the first of the year. we are so ready to move! we've outgrown this place so much. actually, we never fit here. it was within our price range, decent, and close to everything. we were feeling desperate because everywhere we had looked weren't keen on accepting our cat. this place had no problem with it. so, three and a half years later, we're ready to buy. i can't wait!

geez! i can't believe a whole week has passed! i guess i've just been caught up in work and my other "jobs". i hate losing track of time like this. c'est la vie!
hubby and i were going to be working at one of his buildings today, counting shelves in the basement. i was really looking forward to it. we both were, really. we'd been planning on it all week. he has tomorrow and saturday off so we were going to finish up early today and have alot of time together. his boss had other ideas. he called late last night and told him he needed him in l.a. today to purchase fixtures for his store. which, in all reality, is good news. that means his store is set to open sooner than most recently expected. but that doesn't stop me from being bummed.
i'm really frustrated with a client right now. he's taking advantage of me and there's not alot i can do about it. it's a very sticky situation. he's almost family in a weird way. i guess the old adage, "family and business don't mix" holds true. i'm actually a little paranoid of mentioning the situation here for fear that he'll stumble across my blog. maybe i need a seperate domain for it. oooohhhhhh! just what i need, another domain hee hee!

i'm cooking. *shock* i'm making bbq boneless ribs in the crock pot. they smell deeeeeeeeeeelicious! i invented my own bbq sauce a couple of years ago and i must say, it's pretty damn good :) it may sound weird but it's really good!
1 cup catsup
1/2 cup mustard (whatever kind you like. i use half brown deli mustard and half plain old french's)
1/4 cup maple syrup
1/2 tsp garlic
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 cup cold, black coffee
1/2 medium onion, chopped
dash of chile powder
1 TBSP worchestershire sauce (or as my hubby says, "wish i was your sister sauce)
just mix it and dump it on. ta da!
besides cooking, i haven't done much all day except play online. of course, i'll be cursing myself tomorrow when i have to play catch up :)

i feel like a big, bad neglecter :) it's been busy around here. i normally work on the average of 10 hours a day, 6 days a week. of course, not every minute of that time is spent working on "work" things. i'm a very active member of a large web group and i spend alot of time doing things for and within the group and its members as well. but anyway, when i take time off, i wind up having to play catch up for a couple days.
hubby was off saturday and will be off tuesday and wednesday as well. i'm really happy about that. he was off two days during last week too. it's been nice to be able to just do nothing at all with him again. we've both missed it.

the picture below reminds me of something i did as a kid. not only did i chop off my foot long pigtails but i was mad at my mom one day and decided to get revenge. i must have been 8 years old at the time. the closet in my bedroom was huge and my mom kept some of her clothes in the back of it. mostly her dressier clothes that weren't worn so often. i don't recall why i was so mad and vengeful but i opened the closet and found her nicest dress. snip, snip...chop, chop. i must have cut it a dozen times before i moved on to the next article of clothing. when it was all said and done, i cut up about 8 dresses! i was sneaky though and the cuts were in places that she wouldn't notice until she put them on.
