Does anyone living in New York feel "different"? Does anyone in the United States feel "different"?

Well I feel different in the sense that I take the time to smell the morning air. But I also feel an emptiness. I don't know why but it is there and it lingers as if the chunk of NY taken was a part of me. I lived in NY for most of my life and I used to see the twin towers from my room, now . . .it's just the sky.

I'm from Florida and I don't feel different at all after 9/11. Especially not now. I mean, I can read something funny in the Internet or get into a flame war, go shopping, and it never occurs to me that there was something that happened on September 11. Things created before 9/11 are enjoyed seamlessly into the time after 9/11, the before and after have meshed.
Then again, being from Florida, maybe the 2000 election is going to have a bigger impact on me instead. (Actually, it kind of feels like it does.)
