Well, as you all know, last Monday was the 6th month anniversary of September 11th. What are your feelings on what happened? What do you think of the war on terrorism that's going on now? Did you do anything on March 11th to remember the events? Post any other things you want to... those are just a few of my questions.

Hey
This is my first post so dont just judge me on this one, but i think the war on terrorism is going way out of control, to be honest i think this whole "war" was out of hands in the beginning. Whats all this new/old talk about going after Saddam, and sending troops to Georgia and Philipeans. What America? Global Police? Give me a break. They havent caught the main dude yet and they are thinking about expanding the "war." This is all a bs played by Mr. Dumbos administration to keep the bilateral support he has recieved since the attacks. Actully its time for the american public should let go of their "blind" policy and look into what there government is doing elsewhere in the world.

Personally i also think this war on terrorism is out of control. I thought it was in the beginning too. Terrorism is not something we will ever be able to stop its been round for ever. Who gave the U.S. the right to decided who is a terrorist and what is right and what is wrong? We in the U.S. are lucky. Although september 11th was a terrbly tragedy that will never be forgetton that was just a taste of what people in the middle eats have lived with all their lives. Something needs to be done. We are only creating more turmoil in the world with our so called "war on terrorism"
aS for the 6th month anniversary of spetember 11th..... My school did a moment of scilence. One of the girls on my soccer team lost her father..... he was a fire fighter. My team got together and decided that something needed to be done as amemorial to him. So each year we are giving out one award to a girl on the team in honor of her father. And our first game of the season is this thursday so we are going to have a little remebernce service at the beginning of the game for him. And ot honor all those lost we are putting Fire department patches on our uniforms. Althought this is only for one person in a way it is for everyone who was lost.
We had a moment of silence in school for the 6 month anniversary. I live in Brooklyn and saw the lights the past few nights. That's really about it.
As for the 'war on terrorism', I agree with soccer32us and macsucks. This is an outragous war that is entirely hypocrytical. I agree with macsucks about how and why our president is acting the way he is. The overall public does need to wake up and start reading in the good newspapers (People and Time doesn't count) about what the US government is doing, and what it is allowing multi-nationals to do as well. If people really wanted to look at America's place in the world, and do something about it, they would stop driving their SUV's and start learning about places besides the US and parts of Europe.
I can see why this whole thing on "war on terrorism' is happening but on the other hand, as long as this thing has been going on (terrorist groups). There is honestly no way to stop it. Even if we tried I mean, its gonna start back up again just because we did this.
But shouldn't we as American citizens be willing to support our government whole heartedly for their decisions. After all this thing that we are doing now, as simple as it may seem is only possible because of our first amendment right as citizens of The United States of America. Maybe we should find our selves fortunate to be living in a society where if we comment about our government, even bash it at times, we do not suddenly disappear the next mornning. All I am trying to say is that I know our American society is riddled with problems, but let us at least feel fortunate that our government does have the interest of the people in mind, even though it may have certain groups in mind, we as minorities benefit from them also. and as such yes we should question, but let us support as well.
