A seemingly simple question that I'm looking for some more opinions on...Do you think that Osama Bin Laden was in charge of planning the September 11th attacks in America? Why or why not?

My opinion on the subject is that he wasn't directly in charge of it. He very well may have mentioned the idea of it at some point but not in a "Hey let's do this.." sort of way. While I have no doubt that he is very happy about the attacks, I dont think he did them. My main reason for this is that the American government really just needs a scapegoat in a situation like this...someone who they can at least pretend they are seeking their bombs on to make the American public feel a bit safer. They blamed the Oklahoma City Bombing on Bin Laden too until they found out that it was actually an American who executed that act of terrorism. Plus, less than 2 hours after the 2nd trade tower fell, the media was blaming it on Bin Laden...which is before any investigations began. Not to mention the fact that America refused to give any evidence to Afghanistan of Bin Laden's guilt when asking them to hand him over to us.

yea i agree completely. I do think it is very possible he did do but i simply have seen no credible evidence. the only thing close is a videotape which could ave VERY EASILY been doctored and in which i dont believe he actually comes out and says he did it he simply express pleasure that the event transpired in the first place. thats not unheard of if a supposed enemy of ours was taken out we would be pleased as well. Then you have to take into consideration that he was already a big name in american intelligence as an outside threat how would he manage to pull an even of such magnitude of with the CIA as far up his ass as they already were. again im not saying he didn't do im just going by the supposedly american precept of innocent until proven guilty.

Hey do you know what they would be charging him with assuming they did ever capture him? Conspiracy to commit murder or something? Is terrorism an actual charge? *feels dumb*
