Everything After - A 9.11 Youth Circle

I'm going to be traveling to Europe this summer and I am scared to death. I will be going without my parents for a band trip in which I only know one other person. I know that I'll end up making friends, but I'd at least like my parents to watch me get on the plane so I can say good-bye to them. They don't allow that to happen anymore, do they? Do you think that they are going too far on this? I think there should be a certain age limit that you're allowed to have a parent go with you. Don't you? I need some other people's opinions!

HOnestly USA chick i really really wouldn't worry about it. My friend just came into the US from Bulgaria and he was fine. im also going to bulgaria this summer and im not worried at all. are you worried about the actual plane ride or just when u get there. i mean sure most european's hate ameriacns, and i can def see why, im american and i hate most americans for obvious reasons(ignorance, greed, power. but thats a whole other issue, lets not get into that.)

The junior class took its trip to London and Paris last week and they all came back safe and sound (every one of them...jeez. Why couldn't they stay over there?). Needless to say I wasn't allowed to go b/c my parents didn't feel right with me going (and cause I didn't have $4000.) But I'm sure you'll be fine USA chick. Oh and one other thing..Pintozo, why can't we get into that? I'm curious to know as to why you hate americans while you are american yourself..I mean I can see part of why..I hate all people, people suck, but hating members of your own country? Anarchist? Even I wouldn't go that far. Just wondering..you don't have to answer if you don't want to.

we can get into that i guess i was diveriting it to another time. I would prob consider myself an anarchist, but something u have to realize rainydaygirl is that anarchism is a movement and a theory. Dont go to MR. Webster and look it up and see that it means complete chaos, that right there is pure propoganda. If you say that u hate all people than how could u not hate people of your own country. im not gonna say i hate every single american, but i have met a lot that i do hate. I guess the main reason is because many just dont care about the rest of the world. We are all sisters and brothers. I care about the 28 million people dying of AIDS in AFrica. I woould rather give 200 dollars to an organization so someone could live instead of buying a 300 dollar suite, or a 50,000 dollar mercedes. I mean i guess thats the kinda people you get by living in a captilist society. I was actuall on the train the other day, i live in NYC. I made a sign for my friend that said CRUSH COPORATE AMERICA. so immediatley as i got onto the train some women started aruging with me. she was like how do u except to get a job, and do u wanna live poor. Well first of all living on just enough money is fine for me, if it means that everyone gets their fare share, and there are no big corporations etc etc than thats fine with me. I was trying to explain to her that captilism isn't the only way to get money, she could live fine in a socialist society. and then she went on to say how i was young and i had a lot of time to mature. this obviously just pissed me off cause she was discrimating me becaues of my age.

i refuse to be enslaved anymore. people are working insane amoutn of hours but they think they are getting rewarded by getting this money. its all bullshit. people need to be more aware of what our government is doing, and what is going on around the world. Many american's do not care, AT ALL. many do so its a step in the right direction.

What I meant by "I hate all people" is not necessarily that I hate the country or any of that. Every person is different, and some people fail to see that...that's what I hate. Discrimination, hate crimes, terrorism, etc. I hate how no one can get along with one another anymore, although I guess it's always been like that since the very beginning. What I hate the most about people in general is the fact that everyone is so close-minded..that's why people suck. And I agree with you on the whole capitalism/socialism thing...maybe if the government tried something new instead of trying to convert other countries to capitalism then there wouldn't be all this conflict. Unfortunately the people running the government are all old and set in their ways and there's really nothing we can do about it. It is all bullshit and most people in this country are selfish and only care about themselves. They don't care about the poor people in Europe; hell they don't even care about the poor people here. The most we do is donate food at Christmas...maybe they think that those people only need to eat once a year. It makes me sick, but again there is nothing we can do...voting doesn't do anything. It's sad...sad but true. And I don't think that anything is gonna change anytime soon.
