Do you believe that Stem cell research is good..... or bad? Please write what you believe the pros and cons are and why the other side is wrong.

lol Meggem, you've asked a question that I am very passionate about. The post I could write in response could get large, but I'll try to keep it simple.

First of all, we all should know what stem cells are. In the future they are very likely to cure many diseases. Every day we have many many people dying from these diseases. Why deny them their cure and ticket into life?

The standard answer would be that we are destroying a life to save another life. However, what kind of life is lived inside of a womb? The person dying in a hospital already has a life ahead of them. Generally speaking, the life devoloping in the womb is un-wanted.

You see, stem cells are taken from aborted fetuses. If the parent had given birth to the child who knows what could have happened. Statistics show that kids coming from single parent or teenage parent homes are more likely to commit crimes. (of course, I am not saying ALL kids from single parent homes are like that.)

So, if we are already destroying a potential un-wanted life; why not use that waste to save another life that someone is fighting to hold onto?

There are alternatives to fetus stem cells. Adult stem cells have been used to some success. However, so far adult stem cells have not been as promising as those from fetuses.

ya my bio teacher made us do a report over that whole thing back last semester, but i was so busy with other things such as marching band and a bunch, i mean a BUNCH of projects and other homework, that i didn't really get to get into the subject. i am curious to see what you all think about it tho.
