I am really freaked out about these indecent acts done by Priests. I think that it is really pathetic how victims are all comign out about this all at once. I think that these peopel just want to get money. its reall sad. what happened to forgiving those who have forsaken us? and i think that it is okay that the vaticans have let these Priests stay in te Church, isnt this what Christ-believers are supposed to do. Especially those in Church. I am reall undecided on which side to take. So give me some feedback!

Why do you think it's pathetic? In case you haven't seen anything at all on sexual abuse or child molestation, the victims often hide it from feelings of guilt or fear,(ie,fear of not being believed because "he's such a nice man. he'd never do that!")
I think someone finally got the nerve to speak up and that gave others the nerve to do...a chain reaction or ripple effect. While I'm upset that the priests did this, I am much more upset that the Catholic Church hierarchy did nothing to stop it and worsened it by moving them around from parish to parish.
I agree with Shannon.
I am not really going to go in depth because I believe that the Catholic church is messed up, not the cathlics themselves. Much much more than just this shows. I don't think the church should continue to let those who did that hold that place of authority within the church. I think we should forgive them, but not allow them to be a priest. Jesus forgive the thief, but He didn't take him down off of the cross.
Yeah I agree with ChristianGal the catholic church is really messed up and soon it will get to the point where it will liek all break up and become subdivisions.

I am very confused. Being completely agnostic and ignorant of catholisicm and christianity in depth, I don't understand quite a bit of this talk. Though I don't want to offend anybody, what those priests did was against the law and pretty disgusting. What I am mostly wondering is why they did it. I just don't think that you can both forgive someone who has been forgiven multiple times and then broken that trust, and allow them to go on with the same risks.

Can someone who is involved in the Christian faith explain some of it to me? All I know is it worships Jesus, and church websites don't generally tell much.
Okay christianity believes iin the Father the son and the Holy spirit. There are many kidns of Christianity. But liek the main idea is that Jesus came to us to forgive us of our sins and he was killed for us also that he reussurected back to heaven. Hmm what else, yeah what the preists did was against the law but we have to forgive those priests. beign a christian is being christ like, trying to be like him. ( though he was born sinless) to be liek him we must forgive everyones mistakes even if someone has killed your father , you have to forgive the killer ( this is a very hard concept to do but people have to really try). When trying to be forgiven most christians will to go to a priest in a booth that will not show their face, to begin the process you would say something liek " Forgive me father for I have Sinned" , you then tell the priest the sin and then he will forgive you wheich means god forgives you. You could also just pray to God and ask for forgivness, you dont always have to go to a priest. There is a lot to CHristianity, i have only covered a little bit. ANother thing is that I am telling you what Orthodox Christians believe. which is basically the same as other christians except for a few other thigns. I think that if you go to specific relgious websites than you will get alot or information. Like if you want to learn about Catholics , Protestants ,and Jehovas Witnesses. There are many types of Protestants like 7th day Adventists, Born again christians. There are other types of Protestants. But you should just try going to yahoo or google and then just typing in " What Christians Believe" you should get a whole lot more information that is much clearer .

Ok, thanks. Religion is really complicated, and part of the reason I am agnostic (not really know ing what you believe or if you believe at all) is that there are really two parts of me - the side that wants to believe in supernatural powers and God etc., and the part that is logical, and gives me all these reasons why not. I have been educated religiously about lots of different religions, to get an understanding an acceptance of them. But they're vague and don't give the kid attending church school (me in this case) anything.
Religion is fascinating, and even if I don't want to believe, I want to understand and know.
