I think this terroism war should of been over by now
No one truly likes war. Anyone can be military-minded, but no one can truly like war. The concept of war is so overwhelming sometimes; however, there comes a time in history when Reason needs to take a back seat and the fight for Justice needs to commence. This war with terrorism may go on for a long time. The President has vowed to rid the world of terrorism, and there are so many--too many--nations in the world today that are terrorist-oriented. I hope this war ends soon, but it seems to me that we're all gonna be in the long haul with this war.
This is kind of a weird thought but...in school yesterday one of my teachers was asked to define a terrorist, and he said that he thought it was someone who hurts innocent people to gain something. Well, isn't that what the USA is doing right now? We have probably killed more innocent people in Afghanistan than actually the Taliban, so wouldn't that make us terrorists?
Hi everybody. Well, I was just reading what MagDee and TwiZZler had to say about wars, and first it surprised me how different their responses were. For, I am new to this site and the school that I go to is an International one, but all of the American students seem to have the exact same view.
I guess, having lived through a war and having lost members of my family to it, makes me really despise wars. Still though at the same time the society of today seems to only know one way of resolving problems and that is through more conflict. In my opinion what USA is doing now to Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, Palestine, Jerusalem and many other countries, shows just how much the leaders of this country lack the care for the people. It shows just how much this country prides it self on its power and affluence. As the most powerful country in the world we need to show others new strategies of peacefully resolving conflicts, instead of heating them up even more. Ok, well I hope that my comments didn't offend anyone. I really didn't mean it that way, but was just telling you guys my view on it. THanks! Bye
Tamara

Does anyone like war? I honestly can't answer that question, and that sort of scares me. Yes, war costs lives, and is a terrible thing (that's my belief, anyways) but I have some close involvment with the military, and I know that war has been glorified to a large extent. Sure, people can point a finger at the media's portrayel of Rambo-type soldiers, but in truth violence has (sadly) become a glorified act.
Nobody likes war? I don't think that's true. There is a loophole, however: People may like violence, and wars, but as soon as it is turned back on them, as soon as they get a slap in their face or a bomb on their doorstep, they don't like it, and they often respond with (what else?) violence.
I don't exactly understand what a war proves. I kill a larger percentage of people in your country than you do in mine and I win? One person lost is one too many. Although I feel that the acts on September 11th should be acknowledged and those responsible brought to justice, I do not believe that any more lives should be obliterated in the process of doing so. I was taught that there is more than one way to solve a problem and that its ok to walk away. Where did these grade school morals go?

hi, im gulrukh and im new to the site. i have many opinions bout this. war is a horrible horrible thing, but when somebody's country is being rampaged by war, are they supposed to sit there and let themselves be conquered? truly that is not possible. for example, israel is ruthlessly bombing palestine, does that make it okay for the palestinians to strike back with suicide bombings? i think so. when a situation comes to the point when you can do nothing but give up your life, then u do so. i dont think the sept. 11 attacks were right, but i think it taught the US a lesson, dont mess with other peoples affairs. and that if US is the major country around, it should help people instead of trying to destroy them. plz no one take offence to what im saying, i only mean to make a point.war is bad it is, but when something comes to your country, and is on the verge of taking you country away from you, then you strike back, thats all there is to it.
If you're signed up to join the military, you know that there is a great possibility to might die in war... if you are walking down the street or in a disco I do not believe that you are thinking "hmm maybe I will be killed in an act of war today". I do not agree with war, but I much less agree with tactics such as suicide bombing. it is not okay to kill civilians to make a point. At least in the military you signed up to be killed, I never remember having to sign a release form to walk down the street.
I think war really isn't fair. Way too many innocent people die each day. And like MacSuxHanxonRules said, one person lost is one too many. I think that, by bombing Afghanistan and just killing all these people, we are saying that we are weak and we can't take this. I know we can't just sit here and watch them kill all our people and not do anything about it, but we're just kind of going crazy killing all these people just to prove that we are strong. I don't think war proves anything. And it's kind of scary, because this could go on forever because right now it seems like none of the countries are going to just give up, surrender. We're trying to prove to the other countries that we have gotten over the September 11th attacks and are moving on, but really we're proving the exact opposite, that we haven't gotten over this and we can't take it.

war does suck! I mean, so many innocent people died and are still dying. I live in nyc and it was horrible to see the twin towers go down. I still cant beleve it. and now so much is going on and I feel lost. it is very hectic and every day I wish none of this was happening. I think its not right to kill millions of people trying to proOve a point, even though nothing was proOved. I hate hearing everything that is going on on the other side of the world. its kind of weird to realize all this is going on.
