having a job again is... interesting. i get an awesome discount from the monolith. my bosses are cool. i'm working my ass off. i can go to work and say i am going to go frolick in the flowers, and it's true.

if i see one more glitter covered fake poinsetta before christmas, i am going to gag. thank god they haven't started in on the canned christmas music yet.

and the discount. oh, the discount. i love it. my christmas budget will love. and god, so will my closet. i've been craving mass amounts of fabric for sewing projects. one can never have too many pairs of pj bottoms.

an airplane just went over here, for the first time in almost two days. even thought it was flying low, the sound of it is oddly comforting. i just hope this is the first sign that things are slowly returning to normalacy around here.

anne over at nervous industries has started a 1,000 crane project. feel free to sign up there and join the project. right now it's limited to 50 people, though only 11 have signed up. i am also sure that when it fills up, she'll gladly accept cranes from people who not related to the land mail art object. for directions on how to fold paper cranes, click here.

it's weird to not see or hear any airplanes over head for a day. i'm used to seeing them every five minutes. they're (the port authority) saying sea-tac may reopen at 3pm today, but for some reason i doubt that will happen.

some time today i must pull my ass away from this computer and go find another shirt for work, not to mention all kinds of goodies to help me clean this place up. being sullen and having a job can do a number on ones house cleaning skills.

i did manage to notice the date and time stamp coming off of my server are two and a half days into the past. supposedly they need to get one of their net admins to change it. with the rate at which net admins work, this should be done some time next year. or, i might of gotten lucky and it's done already, i won't really know until this post goes up.

it's taken me up till now to wrap my head around what happened this morning. the fact that 4 airplanes were taken over, and then used as weapons, astounds and scares the shit out of me.

and it brings up so many questions. who did it, and why? how'd they get onto the airplanes? how can someone or a small group of people take over an airplane with box knives? and again, why?

i can't imagine what it would be like to be chel, and have this happen in my backyard. i'm having a hard time coping with it happening 3,000 miles away. things like this attack shouldn't happen. terrorism attacks such as the one that happened today were reserved for movies and tom clancey novels. not new york and washington dc at rush hour.

my heart goes out to anyone who has family in either of those two cities, or had a family member on one of the planes. i can't begin to imagine the grief you are going through right now. my only hope is that the us can soon one day find out who did this act of terrorism against them.

bee's lomo shots are wonderful. i love the outside ones, they look like they should be on an old fashioned japanese style postcard.

my job interview is today. keep you fingers, toes, and legs crossed for me.

michelle and her midget leave for france tomorrow. now i'll no longer have anyone to spend my days talking to, making this job that more important. i never thought i would get to the point where i wanted a job more than anything. it's amazing what being unemployed for a few months will do to a person.
